Chinese Major firms earn more than 50 pc profit

Beijing, Dec 28: Major Chinese companies have clocked astounding year on year profits of nearly 50% in the first 11 months of 2010, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday while reporting the performance of 39 companies with annual revenue exceeding five billion yuan ($754 million). Boat tragedy toll hits 15; Govt announces solatium

Madurai, Dec 28: The death toll in the boat tragedy in Ramathapuram rose to 15 on Monday after two more bodies were recovered. Fog disrupts schedules of over 200 flights

New Delhi, Dec 28: Thousands of passengers faced a harrowing time today as thick fog continued to wreak havoc at the IGI airport badly affecting schedules of over 200 flights.
